After a limit catch and very enjoyable trip we cleaned up your fish, and you give the mate a $20 tip and myself a $20 tip, with the comment that she will have to fight me for the $20 you gave me. After telling me that you were planning to book another trip later in the year, I politely declined and said there were plenty of boats to choose from. You understood that I was implying that I didn’t exactly want you to book with us and asked why. I gave you my honest opinion that a $20 + $20 tip for a 6 hour trip was an insult to the mate. You blew up about how I shouldn’t expect a husband and wife to leave a normal 15-20% tip for the mate. It’s standard practice and also clearly stated on our page that it is customary. I didn’t make you pay it, but I wasn’t willing to take you again. It’s unfortunate that you now feel to insult our business even more with a negative review because you feel that a 6% gratuity is acceptable for a limit catch.
