My group of 9 went on a half day (6 hour) deep fishing trip with the Blue Horizon Sportfishing crew and everything was fantastic! The crew (Ian, Brent, and Jim) were very knowledgeable and accommodating. We were new to fishing and they guided us through everything from how the equipment worked to how to bait the rods. It was a nice day and a great fishing trip.  Captain Matt had Brett and Ian helping us with the fish and excellent meals in the galley.  The guys were all great with finding fish and knowing how to catch them.  I hope to make this at least an annual trip with the Blue Horizon and the great crew.

We planned a kids fishing trip, 12 kiddos ages 5 to 11 and 10 adults and everyone had a great time. Lots of action and everyone took their fish home. The crew was incredibly helpful and the food from the galley was tasty.

Captain Jim and his crew were great. The Bluefin and Yellowtail weren’t within range, so Captain Jim put us in some kelp beds to fish off the bottom. Everybody caught fish and the crew would occasionally hook big ones and let the smaller kids reel them in. Had a great time!

In general - you WILL catch fish. Great food and coffee. The captain and crew. We’re very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Captain Matt: if bites began to dry up he moved us and continued on. Brett: one heck of a fisherman and can really throw down on the grill. Ian: heck of an angler, quick hands with getting fish and filleting them for us.
