We recently had the pleasure of booking a 6-hour afternoon mackerel and bluefish trip with Misty Blue Charters, led by the fantastic Captain Chris. The occasion? A family outing to celebrate my dad’s 80th and my sister’s 60th birthdays—talk about milestones! 🎉

Despite the conditions being a bit on the rough side (Captain Chris even gave us the option to reschedule—how thoughtful is that?), we decided to brave the waves and boy, are we glad we did! The fish were biting, the atmosphere was electric, and we ended up hauling in around 20 fish. Everyone in the family had their moment in the spotlight, reeling in at least one fish each. Sure, we had a few slippery ones get away, but that’s all part of the fun, right?

With the weather on our side, we probably would’ve cleaned up even more, but honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing about the day. Captain Chris and his mate were top-notch, ensuring we had a great time from start to finish. By the time we returned to port, the first mate had already cleaned all our fish.

All in all, it was a fantastic day out on the water with family, laughter, and a good haul of fish. I’d highly recommend Misty Blue Charters and Captain Chris for anyone looking to hook some fun and create lasting memories. Thanks for a great day, Captain!

This was my first time fishing in the MD area, and I was very pleased. The Cpt and Mate made the right calls all day (starting a little later, sticking with our spot vs. going for Mackerel. We booked for the but called it early after we caught about 15 large Blues and a huge Cobia fish. It took some patience, but the Cpt strategically planned and the .ates eagle eye got us on the fish.

I purchased this fishing trip as a Father’s Day gift to my husband and his friends and from Day 1 the Captain was in communication with us about the details to ensure a great time for all. He wanted to make sure the fishing location was good for catching the type of fish we requested and even relocated so we could have assurance of a good days catch. I HIGHLY recommend Misty Blue Charters!

We booked this fishing trip not really knowing what we were doing. It turned out to be the perfect trip for our two families! The kids had never been fishing off a boat before. They were catching fish minutes after getting their fishing poles! We caught around 40 fish, including spot, croaker, and kingfish. Capt. Chris and the First Mate were fantastic, I can’t recommend them highly enough. They even rescued not one, but two hats for us! Overall it was a terrific day and we’d love to go back.
