Hank was very friwndly. Made us feel part of his family. Took time to assist us and made us feel welcome. Fishing was slow but the day on the water was nice.

Headed out on an extended half-day trip with Capt Hank. Started off catching bait for the day just near the launch. Caught 40 or so small croaker to live line. Ran to first spot and picked up a single trout on artificials, but bait wasn’t getting it done. Capt Hank was determined to put us on some fish, so we ran to a favorite location of his. The extra run paid off. We ended up with 5 legal trout in the cooler and released another handful of undersized trout, a few small blues and another few pesky rays.
Weather came up out of the south and Capt Hank wisely suggested we modify the trip to just a half-day. This was a wise decision. Wind picked up significantly and rain started just as we were getting back to the launch. We got back to our car safely and then the skies really opened up. The wisdom of an experienced captain making a good call saved the day for us. Would highly recommend Captain Hank for a trip while you’re in the OBX.
We will definitely be back out with him again in the future.

My family and I were on vacation this July along with other family members from different states. We decided to book a fishing trip a few months in advance so we knew we would have one when we arrived in town. Myself, my son along with my nephew and father in law all went out on this trip. After booking Captain Hank got in touch with me and told me what to expect and when it got closer to our trip he would reach out to me with further information on what time and where to meet up. We had an awesome trip caught several Trout and one Flounder. Captain Hank was very friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend going with him if you get the opportunity.

This was the seconds trip with Captain Hank. The first one was somewhat slow… but my son want to book with Hank a year later because he was so nice. This time however, we hit loads of bait fish right off the bat which then lead to very good trout fishing throughout the day. We ended up catching 7 speckled trout keepers, a bunch of almost keepers and 3 bonus sting rays (which put up a fun fight) that were thrown back. It was an awesome day out on the water. If we end up doing a charter for a 3rd year in a row it will be with Captain Hank.

This Trip was originally scheduled for Aug 28, with the threat of inclement weather we rescheduled to Aug 30th, Day before Hurricane Idalia.  Had a great day, was one Red Drum away from limiting out, and caught our limit on Trout.  Caught one Over slot Red Drum (We released), and A Large Trout. We were able to catch one drum in slot and ate both of them that night at Blue Water Grill at Pirates Cove.  The rest of the trout was filleted and bagged and will go home with us.  Got rained on while cleaning the fish but it was ALL Good, will look forward to next vacation here in the OBX and Fishing with Hank.  Will try and get some pics uploaded later.
