Great Captain and crew!! Oscar had to search far and wide for fish & put us on large YF tuna a Marlin. On day one we hooked, landed. & released an acrobatic Blue Marlin that Oscar estimated at 325-350 lbs. around 1:00 he found the tuna. Hooked up and fought a YF for 2 1/2 hrs!!
Incredibly strong fish that whipped 2 grown men(along w/some mates). Grabbed the leader so it was a catch. Estimated 225lb +.
2nd date targeted Roosterfish & Snapper, but the bite was slow w/several misses. Oscar then put us back in the tuna& we caught a 95lb YF that became sashimi and wonderful meal at the hotel. The best eval a Captain can receive is plans for return trip(s) & that will happen. I advise being in shape before you decide to take on these Costa Rucan Marlin & Tuna. Book some trips w/Oscar…you’ll have a great time and he’ll put you on fish.

Fishing on Mr Oscar’s 30’ boat was a pleasure. It was a comfortable ride offshore and there was plenty of room to lounge around and get out of the sun. The captain Jesus put us on the fish and the deckhand David was phenomenal. He worked extremely hard to make everything perfect. Our wives both had the pleasure of catching Sailfish and we all caught yellowfin Tuna. Thanks to everyone mentioned above for our 1st trip to Costa Rica.  We definitely will be back and definitely will fish with Mr Oscar and his crew again.

Oscar is a fantastic guide, captain, and host.  He got us into fish immediately and for the whole trip.  Not only is he knowledgeable, but also super friendly and a great host providing everything you need to know to catch fish in PJ.  They have a great boat with all the best fishing tackle/rods/reels.  Lunch and plenty of drinks were provided.  We caught heaps of fish and was constant from the minute we got out there.  Book Oscar!

Most importantly you will get a Captain and Crew with a passion for fishing and desire to satisfy the client in the quest for whatever species he/she may seek.  He puts in the time and effort and goes the distance in making each day the best he can for his clients when it comes to catching. While everyday is a great day for fishing, experienced anglers know some days are better than others for catching ...but rest assured Captain Oscar will do everything within his control to make each and every day you fish with him a memorable experience.  Believe me I don’t give this type of review as a matter of routine. Great sea and weather conditions and boat matched them. Two offshore trips and caught tuna, striped and blue marlin. Tasty sashimi for the ride in. Only wish we could have found live bait for some inshore action. Next time!
