- Captain Seth Ellis has over 16 years of experience guiding incredible fishing trips targeting Halibut, Salmon, Lingcod, Rockfish and all the other species that can be found in the Cook Inlet and South Central Alaska. “We recognize that everyone has a different level of fishing experience and we work hard to accommodate both the amateur and the avid fisherman.”
- Techniques
- We use a special technique of bottom fishing for halibut while on anchor. Occasionally we will drift-fish, but the most successful way for fishing halibut in our area is learning the migratory patterns of the fish, choosing a productive spot and capitalizing on the experience of our captain and crew. We love to troll for all species of salmon. Years of trial and error has payed off with the knowledge of perfect presentation, water depth, trolling speed and migratory patterns of both King Salmon and Coho Salmon. Pink Salmon are also available in our area. Some people turn their nose up at a pink, but my family and friends love the salmon dip I make from a Pink Salmon! Our third technique is for lingcod and rockfish. We will jig-fish over underwater structure where rockfish and lingcod congregate. Lighter tackle is used for rockfish, but the same technique with larger bait is used for lingcod. This is true Alaska fishing! After catching a limit of halibut on our boat you are now a bonafide "Expert Alaska Fisherman!"
