Within 5 minutes of the bait in the water a 60lb-70lb Tarpon bent the rod jumped out of the water, took the bait and got away.  We knew we would have a good night. Myself and both teenage kids all had a chance to reel in our own monster tarpon in the 60-70lb range.  Those stay in the water but we hooked into and boated a few smaller ones as well. We booked a Tarpon trip with Captain Luis. We cannot say enough good things about this trip and the memories that we made. We caught 5 Tarpon, a huge Snook, saw Pelicans all over and even a Manatee. The trip ended with me catching a Beast of Tarpon. 5 to 6 feet long and 80-100 lbs. Estimated. The fish took 20 to 25 min to get to the side of the boat and was safely released.
