we started our morning by getting the boat in the water and in the harbour we where catching sardines with a casting net. We needed to drive the boat a while to the spot to start trawling with a special noise maker and handlines. We did not catch a fish and after half an hour our captain Carlos said we were going to do something else so we stopped the boat en we where given handlines en live sardines to put on the hook and what our captain would do was trowing 5 live sardines in the water and one on our hooks and then the fish would eat it and we would start the fight. After 5 hours of fishing we caught 14 fish, whe caught needlefish, amberjack, sheepshead, blackfin tuna and rainbow runners. we went back tho the harbour to clean the fish and the captain would make fish filet from the fish you want to take home and you could choose everything. we had a very nice and fun expierence and i would recomend to al the fellow anglers to try the handlinr method and fish like a local

Captain Carlos was a great guy and did a great job trying to find us fish! The weather was windy which made things difficult but he worked hard until we found some fish!  He explained everything very well and was very knowledgeable of the area. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an authentic island fishing experience!

After being taken out three times by other fisherman and catching nothing, I read about Carlos’s experience.
Early morning we go out and we caught 14 tuna. If you’re going fishing, for sure call Carlos. He has a beautiful boat and professional fishing equipment. And Carlos is a friendly person, which is also important.

Had an amazing morning with my teenage sons (17, 19) and Captain Carlos.  We are from Pennsylvania so only familiar with lake and stream fishing.  Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and helped teach us different methods of warm water ocean fishing.  Landed a large mahi early and then a nice tuna hand lining.  Caught a cooler full of fish (Mahi, blackfin tuna, skipjack and rainbow runner).  20+ fish in total.  Boys had so much fun and were texting and snapchatting friends pictures from the trip.  Boat is perfect size for 2-3 people that want to experience fishing as a local.  After the trip, Carlos asked what fish we wanted and then cleaned and fillet our Mahi and a tuna.  He then recommended Tasty Bar and Steakhouse in town, a restaurant he collaborates with.  The restaurant made us 3 different appetizers and 2 family size plates of mahi and tuna prepared different ways for a very reasonable fee.  The meal was delicious and staff very friendly.  A fitting end to a great day.  If you are looking for something different than sitting on the beach or snorkeling/diving,  I highly recommend spending a morning fishing with Carlos and experiencing another part of this island.

We went with our two sons fishing with Captain Carlos on the Caribbean Sea near Bonaire. We went on his boat to the south end of the island and did trawling and bottom fishing. He was very friendly, anticipating our needs (do you still feel OK?) and speaking a lot about the fishing, the island, etc. We had a lovely afternoon, caught fish and experienced a beautiful sunset (our trip was slightly scheduled to experience this!). Carlos cleaned the fish that we caught and we prepared it in the evening for dinner, best ever!!! We will certainly do this again as we are frequent visitors of Bonaire. You should as well….!
