What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Lewes, Delaware for the first time?

My father and I went out this morning and it was phenomenal! We caught a ton of fish and Dave was an awesome guy! I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Will definitely come back the next time we’re in Delaware.

Ask questions to mention who hang out around the fish and bait shops asking questions. Ask for captain jack better yet spend some time with him and his boar. Captain jack is well diverse in boats, fish and great stories.

Ask questions of locals and tackle shop owners on where to go and what to use if first time fishing. September is late season for good fishing and can be spotty, but still enjoyable and successful if you know where to go and what they are biting on.

Captain Jacks is a great inexpensive way to enjoy a few hours of fishing on the bay. October is not the optimal time here go fishing but the experience was still awesome

Good and easy trip. 3.5 hours on the water. Not too much rocking so if people get sea sick this may be the trip to take. Very easy.

Listen to your captain. He knows the waters and the conditions. If you let them they will put you in the fish

Use a guide and research ahead of time for best fishing months for type is species you want to catch.

Fishing in the canal is pretty good this time of year. Be patient and have fun. Make sure to have blood worms, squid and power bait.

Most of the flounder had migrated to deeper water in July. Either fish earlier in the year, when the water is cooler or fish near shore if fishing in July.

Try switching between bait and jig for bottom fishing, some days one type of lure works significantly better than the other.

There are no guarantees you will catch anything, but the captains will try their best. Enjoy the experience no matter what.

Easy to get to, easy parking at the peer and not very crowded out on the water.

We fished in the Bay and it was like glass on the water which was great for our family and kids
