What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Avalon, California for the first time?

Water was cold for this time of time of year so there wasn't much action for yellowtail, tuna, or Dorado yet. July was fun, but will probably shoot for an August trip next time to try and get on some more meat for the freezer.

Wear sunscreen, surf shirts even if hot, bring snacks. Wear swim suit under clothes if you need a quick dip in the ocean and towels

Martin is a excellent skipper and knows how to fish I would recommend him to anyone fishing in and around Catalina.

Considering that the fish are less active when the water is colder, we had a great time and had no trouble finding fish. Take a jacket to be sure you're not cold.
