What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Pottsboro, Texas for the first time?

The only reason I didn't go with 5 stars is because the fishing the day we went was off and we didn't catch but one fish. The reason, heavy rains the day before and morning we fished we largely responsible for the poor fishing conditions. Our guide, Jason Buchanan was awesome and had no control over whether the fish are biting. I highly recommend him.

The larger size boat that Captain Jacob Harbour had made for a very pleasant ride, it also eliminated problems of tangled lines, etc., with plenty of elbow room! Captian Jacob was very attentive to everyone in our group, from baiting our lines and guiding us in better ways to attract and catch the Stripped Bass! Voice expectations up front, but this doesn’t come without a little experience already, what can be expected, to be expected, Check ur weather, and ask upfront, what’s an appropriate gratuity, can it be based on %? If $80 is a reasonable good tip, we can catch 22 fish each, if I catch only 60%. Then mabe 40-50$, sounds reasonable to me

We had a blast; Mr. Zachary has the knack for finding the perfect spots for Stripers. We caught 13 of them, all a great size. I highly recommend Kenny's guided fishing trip with "American Striper Guides."

The water temperature was pretty high which drove the fish pretty deep. With a little cooler weather, it would have been a great trip. Shad was pretty tough to get but we had enough for our needs. Early June or late May, weather permitting, would be potentially a more successful trip for striper.

Book a trip for two or three with Texoma Outfitters and Captain Tim, bring a few drinks and snacks, and have a great time! The stripers were biting pretty steady at the third location we tried, so we anchored and kept catching for the rest of the trip. Book a room in Denison or Sherman for the night before your trip if you're not close and not a morning person like me!

They had been catching good numbers in the weeks before our trip, but our bad luck a cold front blew in and turned the fish off. We were still able to catch some, and there were tons of fish we were able to fish through, so they are there and Captain John does a great job keeping you in the best possible places to catch fish!

Dress warm, the mornings can be very cold, especially on a boat. However the fishing is excellent especially if you find a good guide that knows what to fish with and how to work the waters. The fish are constantly on the move.

go early if you can. fishing is rough right now after recent flooding so the earlier the better (6:30am is ideal).

Just enjoy your fishing trip because he is going to try his best to make sure that you get more than what you expect from a fishing trip

Be prepared for some tough fishing. The lake being up and so muddy from the inflow makes it hard to get them to bite, but that's part of it.

Hard to say. The water was extremely brown due to a lot of rain. This isn’t normal, but our guide did a great job locating a school of fish.

Prepare well for potential weather changes. Be patient, there are a lot of fish in Texoma, it takes an experienced guide to put you on them.

Great lake for stripped bass, easy to get to, and just an amazing place to visit. Captain Ed is absolutely the best!

Double check boat, and captain reviews before booking. Boat and equipment condition in my opinion are critical to the experience.

It was pretty warm! The captain told us the fish are a little more active in the fall and winter but we still caught a lot of fish and were very happy.

Wear a hat and bring plenty of sunscreen and drinks… other than that just prepare to have a good time :)

Keep an eye on the weather. It just happened to be cloudy on the day we went. If had been sunny it would have been a long hot day in July

Bring a big hat and sunblock, get with the captain and see if you can bring a small ice chest for cold drinks and snacks

Was a little cooler than expected. Bob and his crew lent us a few hoodies and gloves to keep us comfortable

If there is a chance of a windy day, say over 15mph, look for a guide with a big boat. Keeping It Reel has a big boat and it served us well when the wind picked up for a few hours.

Based on being over fish (seeing them on fish finder) but them not really feeding, this might not be the best time of year for fishing on lake Texoma. May be sporadic this time of year.

I would recommend using Bob's Guide Service, he has lots of experience with a top notch boat and equipment.

Tanglewood resort is a great place to stay; Very close to all the docks and good proximity to all necessities for a fishing trip.

Don’t trust the weather man in November. He may say it will be sunny and 65 but take warm clothes, we did and darn glad we were prepared.

Our guide worked hard to get us onto the fish and the experience didn’t disappoint! It was beautiful weather too.

Take the time to book a trip with Captain Dylan. He was very professional and knowledgeable on fishing for stripers.

Ed was a great guide! We stayed in the cabins at Little Mineral Resort. Very enjoyable and reasonable, right in the water.
