What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Cedar Point, North Carolina for the first time?

The fishing is fine and the water is gorgeous, but right now there are a ton of boats on the water trying to catch flounders during the 2-week flounder season, which makes it less enjoyable. But we love fishing here!

Captain Richard and first mate RJ were awesome with our group. We caught a lot of small fish but never got bored. He took us to shark tooth Island while he cleaned our catch and RJ helped us find shark teeth and clams. Will absolutely book again!!!!

There are loads of fish out there- you just have to use the correct set up for the fish you want. Ex: shrimp for the bottom feeders (croaker, blue, pinfish), minnows - lure trolling for Spanish mackerel. Check with the guides for details.

We've gone fishing in Sept and May with this charter. The captain treated us very well, we were just unlucky enough to go on days where the bigger fish just weren't found, although we tried many different locations with several baits. Everyone on board caught at least 2 fish, and there were 5 of us, so that isn't a bad of fishing, but the fish were quite small.

Great for first timers! Morning trip was a nice 4 hour trip. We fished for 2 hours in the sun and then for an hour in shade. I don’t know if that was planned but it made the trip extremely comfortable! We didn’t have to reapply sun screen or need to drink a lot of extra water.

It was good. We were catching a lot of smaller fish but that is the luck of the draw. Got a few leopard puffers which were fun.

What a great environment, caught a lot of fish, some small and most pretty large, I would do it again in a minute. Definitely a high of my fishing career,

Be ready to catch fish. We caught fish the whole time out on three different spots. It was a good day of fishing.

Get a charter if you can afford it! Otherwise, use live and/or the freshest bait you can find and hit pre-dawn pre-dusk (ideally at the right tide(s))

Just go with the flow of what your captain tells you but don’t be afraid to say what you would like to catch either.

The day we went was a great day for fishing. It wasn’t too hot and low winds with calm waters.

Windy and swells didn't allow us to off-shore fish but it was a great time and Capt Eick was super!
