Great day on the water, slow start fishing but stopped for a great lunch with swimming and diving off the boat. In the last hour we hooked a feisty blue marlin, on an 80lb rig and our proven tuna jet, got the fish to the boat and all of a sudden we were surrounded by a shoal of trigger fish, very feisty fish tested our captain aka wireman but released lit up blue.

July 17th. Out with experienced angler Terry, we raised and he got this fish to the boat. Safely released it swum energetically away..

21 boats fished this out of Madeira, 160 boats world wide. We won this competition for australian clients in 2019. We fished this year with Andy and Alison from Somerset. The competition started at 8.30, at 10. 35 we hooked a lively 500+ Blue marlin, a qualifying fish for the comp. After a spectacular display at the back of the boat the fish went down and took 1 3/4 hours to get to the boat. We had to take the fish to be weighed and it came in at a respectable 557lbs. It was the fourth biggest fish in the world and the only fish qualifying in Madeira. The fish was donated to the Madeiran fisheries for scientific research. It was a male fish previously males were only thought to reach a max of 350lbs, so maybe a record breaker in its own right.

1st time boat fishing Steve and Lorraine joined us for a full day big game marlin fishing. The action started with a blue marlin that hit the long then took the shotgun strpped a hundred yard off the reel before pulling the hook. Half an hour later we had a white marlin hit the shotgun, bill wrapped and pulled the hook. Later in the day we had an explosion on the rigger lure, the fish went nuts at the back of the boat jumping across the spread all lit up and then coming straight at the boat. Expending all its energy in the first manic 5 minutes Steve had the fish to the boat in 15 minutes, he took to the chair like a pro!.

Absollutely beatuiful day with a lovely dutch family, we trolled to a jigging mark off the south west point off Ponta do Pargo. We caught a variety of fish including, pargo, garoupa, mahi mahi, grouper 12lbs and a 20lb amberjack.

Out for 2 hours on our second trip of the season. Hooked up to a nice blue about 650lbs
