Key West has been serving up some unusual weather lately—cooler-than-average temperatures, bouts of rain, gusty winds, and even some dense fog rolling in. It’s a bit like winter decided to visit the Keys but thankfully forgot the snow! Despite these strange days, the fishing has been anything but disappointing. The mackerel bite has been on fire, with plenty of action from Spanish and cero mackerel keeping rods bent. The kingfish have also made their presence known, giving anglers a chance to fight some serious line-screamers. If fast-paced fishing is your style, now’s the time to get out there. On the bottom, the action has been equally exciting. Mutton snapper are showing up and putting smiles on anglers’ faces with their size and fight. The yellowtail snapper bite has been steady too, offering a perfect opportunity to fill the cooler with delicious fillets. Rain jackets may have been a necessity this week, but for those willing to brave the elements, the rewards have been well worth it. Whether you’re chasing the mackerel frenzy or dropping bait for snapper, the fishing has been hot—even if the weather hasn’t. Lots of fish this week! Weather was cooperative and it wasnt too rough.

We fished on the gulf side today due to the south wind. Everyone had a great time ans left with enough for dinner.

Today’s 10 AM trip was nothing short of fantastic! With perfect weather and 20 eager anglers on board, the action was nonstop. The catch of the day included plenty of grey snapper, mutton snapper, and some solid red grouper. Smiles all around as everyone reeled in something worth bragging about!

We have had a very productive beginning of December

Fishing Report: Day Trip with Capt. Brandon What started as a day we expected to battle the wind turned into an absolutely perfect day on the water! Capt. Brandon took full advantage of the surprise calm conditions, putting the group on an incredible variety of fish. The haul included beautiful mutton snapper, lane snapper, grey snapper, feisty yellowtails, and plenty of porgies to round things out. It was a day full of action, great weather, and happy anglers!
