I went out two days after the snow. The trout have left most of the bayous i fish but the sheephead and puppy drum have moved in. The 14-16” drum are delicious amd put on a good fight.

The wind was blowing and the temperatures were not high. We fished several reefs with limited success. Once the sun warmed up the sand and shell bottom, the trout began to fire up. The specks still seam to be hammering the live bait.

In between the cold fronts, the fishing has been pretty good for december. The big trout are finally starting to move to the interior marshes abd bayous. Redfish are still hanging around as well. Lots of rats but a few for the box as well.

The white trout are still biting lretty well amd the puppy drum have started showing up a little. We have been seeing the bald eagle and osprey wuiet a bit as it cools off as well.

The water was calm and beautiful ober the weekend. The speckled trout and white trout are growing and the bull reds are starting to show up.

I had the opportunity to take Mr Glenn out for a half day trip this Wednesday. It was a nice sunny day, with a brisk Northeast wind. We tried artificial but the fish wanted live shrimp. After several smaller resfish, Mr Glenn hooked and landed this nice 31” redfish. For the cold water temperture , this dude pulled drag and made a great ending to a tough but great day on the water. A day on the water is always a good day to me though. Sharing good company and catching fish are always just a bonus.
