We had good tides for shark so that’s what we decided to target today. The sharks did not disappoint. The bite provided steady action all day and everyone went home with plenty of meat to fill the freezer.

We started out with limits of bass by 6:40 am. Then took advantage of the shark tides and experienced wide open action on the sharks in San Francisco bay.

The strong tides and colder weather has caused some lock jaw for the halibut but we still managed limits of striped bass. Conditions are improving for halibut so I’m optimistic. If you ever look up at the moon and it’s showing less than half, that usually means good halibut fishing in the bay. When it’s full, that’s no good.

This weekend was our first halibut trip of the season. We had a beautiful day on the water and went home with limits of halibut and one striped bass. We also caught 15 undersized halibut that kept us on our toes. There are two types of days on the water, good days and better days. When you experience action like this, there are plenty of good memories and stories to go around.
