As the winter temperatures have bottomed out, the shift to warmer water temperatures has begun. This means everything is starting to eat, the winter species (Pompano, sheepshead) are starting to school up and chew,at the same time the year round species (redfish, snook, trout ) are coming out of winter water temp shock. This means everything is in the bay and hungry!!!

With negative tides and cool water temps in the mornings this time of year the fish don't want to work hard for a meal. This means slowing all presentations of baits down to a crawl,,painfully slow ,,when my clients think they're going as slow as they can I'll tell them to cut that speed in half.
