With negative tides and cool water temps in the mornings this time of year the fish don't want to work hard for a meal. This means slowing all presentations of baits down to a crawl,,painfully slow ,,when my clients think they're going as slow as they can I'll tell them to cut that speed in half. Low tides =slow Low temperatures =slow Low pressure (cold front)=slow.

With direct hits from 2 major hurricanes in our rear view mirror, the fishing has finally gotten back to where it should be this time of year. Usually, "Red October " is when the redfish school up and start chewing heavily, but with the bay stirred up by Helen and Milton, the schooling was delayed. When morning tides are low in the summer you'll find the red's hanging around the deep water docks,,as the tide moves in follow them up on to the grass flats.

With good summertime morning tides the redfish are schooling up on the shallow flats when the water is high. Gator Trout on the deeper grass flats and perfect eater size black drum on the deep water docks makes for a great day of fishing!!! Hit me up for an epic day.
