Currently we are finding LARGE schools of Redfish and Snook, often on every charter we run! On a recent trip long time clients and friends Jimmy, his dad and I boated 50 or more Snook, 30+ Redfish and 10+ Speckled trout! We did all of our casting with artificial baits...specifically, we threw GULP shrimp products and soft plastic swim baits, each rigged with 40 lb floru leader and 1/8 ounce jig heads! Although we typically throw 1/4 ounce jigs, my jig guy talked me into 1/8 oz. and we are happy with the result! Greetings from the Flamingo Everglades, here in South Fl. Although our weather has been a bit of a challenge, we are finding good schools of Redfish and Snook. On the past few recent trips, my anglers have found and fought good size Redfish (good for us, 20-27 in. fish) and also Snook. Chris and his son Josh returned for their third trip this year and brought 10 or more Redfish to the boat along double digit Snook as well. On this trip, we fought hard against a coming cold front but managed a GREAT bag to close the charter. Chris and son fought and landed 30- 50 fish all in all despite the weather conditions. On this charter, fish took more to artificial baits such a GULP products than they seemed to vs. any live presentation. My anglers paired GULP products with 1/4 jig heads and 40 lb. floru leader. We worked areas surrounding structure (mainly down trees) and achieved great success casting near "stumps" (broken off old trees). All in all, our winter bite is good! Greetings from the Flamingo Everglades! Currently we are experiencing some “cold for us” weather here in South Florida. Coupled with this cooler weather we are enjoying some good Redfish, Trout and even Goliath grouper fishing… We are finding fish shallow as they are seeking warmer water as the old fire ball makes it up on the sky each day. On a recent trip, Vic and his longtime friend enjoyed a good Trout bite and also an epic Redfish bite. We worked shallow flats throughout the charter, threw soft plastics and experienced and epic bite! Redfish and trout are taking GULP products, on 1/8 ounce jigs..we like to use 40 lb floru leader to help our baits be more attractive. We are not shy with scents, our clients enjoy adding scents such GULP product scents. In fact, we tend to add more especially when the bite slows…We are finding that often, artificial baits out fish others. Fish with us and take part on the winter bite. Capt Armando Alejo

Greetings A2 fans, We are currently enjoying a good season of "cool" weather here in the Flamingo Everglades (cool for us). Anglers are enjoying our BEST weather and the fishing has been great! Currently my clients are enjoying catching large quantities of fish! On a recent trip, Carlos and his wife Monica brought 50+ Redfish, 20+ Speckled trout and also some trophy Black drum. We did so well by focusing on water dropping off of a grass flat, on a dropping tide.. Greetings from the fair weathered South Fl, Currently, our weather is absolutely epic and as such is the bite! Currently, we are experiencing a good Trout bite, Superb Redfish bite and good Snook bite! On a recent trip my beautiful fiancé worked hard and out fished me as she brought 10+ upper slot Redfish to the boat, she did so in some very windy and "cool for us" conditions. We focused on flats "run off's", and worked them meticulously as we were dealing with a dropping tide all day! This method worked flawlessly as we were on fish for about an hour per run off and moved each time only to find more fish at each spot... As the sun moved up in the sky, we switched tactics and worked grass beds for Snook. It didn't take long before we made the right cast and brought a nice slot to the boat. She was photographed and quickly released, but it was refreshing to catch a nice Snook during our "winter" season. We, as we regularly do, we pitched artificial baits all day, mostly Gulp products each rigged with 40 lb floru leader and also 1/4 jigs. Recently I've been asked a lot "why do you use such heavy leader?" The best answer I can give is this: In the Glades, you never know what your next catch will fetch! I use 40 because it's still easy to tie vs. 50, and the added strength is the key! Fish with us soon as December is starting to fill, and folks are currently seeking January dates. Greetings from the Flamingo everglades, Our weather is fantastic, and we are excited to continue to welcome our friends from the North. Currently, we are enjoying a good Redfish, Black drum and Speckled trout bite! Recently, we had Dr. Howard aboard and we made a run West to block a North wind. After our first stop we came across a solid school of juvenile tarpon. Howard and I threw everything at them, including the kitchen sink! with no luck, it wasn't until we switched to flies, that we got some interest. Doc and I jumped multiple Poons in the 30-70 lb range but couldn't bring any to the boat. A quick run South found us baby Snook, multiple slot Redfish and a few black drum. Later in the day, as the sun crept above, we sighted and incited a Tripletail to bite! Indeed, that was the highlight of the day. The Poons took light colored flies, and all other species took artificial Gulp shrimp paired with 40 lb floru leader. See you on the water!
