For those not on a cruise ship but staying a few days, contact captain about keeping some of the fish. Most local restaurants will cook them for you if you give them enough for several meals. If so bring cooler.

Seas were rougher than expected. The currents ride and wrap around the islands then clash somewhat violently offshore. I probably wouldnโt take small children. Weather was very windy (15-30mph) most days we were there. Skies were overcast due to sarahan dust in the gulfstream the day we were fishing.

Note that a cab ride from St. Johns may be required, where our cruise ship docked. Those can take 30 mins and we negotiated a cab fare around $45.

I would highly recommend fishing on the Pacific Marlin for new anglers! Itโs a solid boat and a comfortable ride in a sea. The fishing grounds are close and plentiful!

We got there at 11 for a 1pm booking. Some shops and the restaurant were open. I donโt recommend taking small children on your first time. We had rain showers and rough seas and we still got to have fun catching 21 fish! Tell your captain you want the Restaurant at the dock cook your catch! We will forever be in love with the day we had fishing at Jolly Harbor. I cannot recommend this enough.

Yes the crew would be great for first timers as they were very helpful with George who was a first timer on deep sea. I have a good amount of experience and was very impressed with the crew and the cleanliness of the boat.
