First time ocean fishing so fish for something so fish for what the captain recommends
We hooked on to allot of yellowfin and it was great fun they put up a great fight
A whole day trying to catch marlin or mahi mahi and possibly not catch anything can make for a long boring day

Bring a windbreaker of some sort that is waterproof, wear crocs or some water safe type footwear. Hat with a way to secure to your head, Sunscreen and chapstick.

If you are hesitant just go. It’s “off shore” fishing a couple miles from land within 15 minutes of the marina.

I have been dreaming about fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the last 10 years. I was finally able to line it up and it was truly a trip of a lifetime! The amount of bait, marine, life, birds, working, and coastline is absolutely stunning! Catching fish was a bonus and a trip that I will never forget. I highly recommend Fishing Cabo San Lucas Mexico if you have the opportunity.

I highly recomend fishing with these guys, i have fished with close to ten other deep sea fishing charters around the world and these guys are one of the best I’ve been with! They keep the fish biting all day and do whatever it takes to get them to bite.

The captain will make every effort to catch a fish. You will probably not get to touch the rod until there is a fish on the other end, so just be patient and give them respect by letting them do their best to get you on a fish

Cabo Mahi Mahi – 23' Panga
Recommend getting your fishing license online or before the trip so no time is wasted. We had a great Captain and first mate but more English and the ability to communicate easier would have helped a bit more. They worked hard to give us the ability to land a marlin so my son and I felt it was great.

Bring cash for a tip for the deckhand/first mate (20-25%). $20 each for a fishing license unless provided. $1 each to get onto the dock. $30-60 for live bait. $50-$100 if you need your fish cleaned for you (or bring a fillet knife and some bags). Protect yourself from the sun.

I recommend on day before eat a light dinner with water and no alcohol. On fishing day, I don’t eat breakfast or coffee, just a little water. A few hours into the day my appetite is ready for a granola bar - if I have time to stop. Because the fishing can be exciting around Cabo.

Full day charter can take you further out. For family trips, read reviews from Families and go on half day trips vs. full day. Split the half day into close to shore smaller fish then deeper waters for second half yo land bigger fish.
