We have been really busy and not had much time to put up report so I'm putting the last week's report today

Captain Doug led a group of anglers on an exciting fishing adventure along the Knik River in Alaska. During their trip, they focused on catching two popular types of salmon: silver salmon and sockeye. Thanks to Captain Doug’s guidance and the prime conditions on the river, everyone in the group enjoyed a successful outing, reeling in plenty of fish and creating lasting memories of their Alaskan fishing experience. Even though it was raining, the spirits of the group remained high as they cast their lines into the misty current. The steady drizzle only added to the sense of adventure, with droplets sparkling on the river’s surface and the soft patter of rain creating a tranquil soundtrack for the day. Undeterred by the weather, everyone embraced the wild Alaskan elements, making their catches all the more rewarding.

Captain Doug took a group of friendly anglers out on the Knik River in Alaska. The weather was beautiful, with mountain views and calm water. Everyone was excited as the sun came up, ready to fish for silver (coho) and sockeye salmon. The Knik River looked amazing in early August. Fresh water from melting glaciers made the river clear and cool. Birds like swans and eagles watched from the trees along the banks. The salmon were just starting to come up the river from the sea. Captain Doug’s boat was ready before sunrise. The group hoped for a good day, and it wasn’t long before the first salmon was on the line. Silver salmon, known for their strong fight, were biting well. Everyone worked together, cheered each other on, and enjoyed the excitement of catching salmon. By the end of the day, there were smiles all around and great stories to share. It was a perfect start to August on the Knik River.

This morning, I took my group out early on the Knik River. The air was cool, and the water was calm—perfect conditions for fishing. I could tell everyone was eager to catch some silver salmon and sockeye salmon. I met them with a big smile, happy to share that the fish were biting well this season. We got our gear ready: rods, tackle, and a short “what to expect” speech to start the day right. Once we got on the river, I showed them the best spots where I often see salmon moving. When we dropped our lines in the water, I watched their faces closely. The excitement was clear. Then, it happened—one by one, the fish struck hard. I saw surprise and pure joy as the rods bent almost into the river. For a moment, it looked like the fish might pull the rods right in! Those are the moments I love most as a guide—sharing in the thrill of a big catch and seeing those happy reactions. That’s what keeps me coming back to the Knick River, day after day.
