We killed it today in 73’ of water with Carl, Joe, Zach, Ken, and Ed . Ran a spread of 9 rods, 4 dipsey’s, 3 wire, and 2 downrigger’s. Reeled in 44 fish and kept 36, with 12 over 20”. I have availability in August or September. Fish in comfort on my 35’ Viking Sport Cruiser.

3 man limit today off Lorain in 68’ - ran 17 miles offshore to target trophy Steelhead and Walleye- got two fish ohio fish today. 18 very nice walleyes and one 28.5”, and one 28” Steelhead- trophy fishing at its best in a premium boat built for offshore fishing. Justin was the high bidder on a fishing charter at the St. Michael men who cook fundraiser back in February, and today was his day to reel in some great fish. Drew, Frank, Dave and Justin reeled 28 keepers, 4 limits and 4 bonus fish from the Captain. Biggest was 27”, with quite a few 20-26”, an impressive haul on a mostly wind less day. The midges were everywhere, but these guys ignored them , enjoying their day. First mate Ken kept us on fish all day. By the end of the trip, they were netting fish like pro’s. It was a great cause, and thanks to Justin for supporting St Michael School!

The large fish have moved off shore, and we are having good success with Fish Ohio sized walleye and steelhead. Fish are very active in 69-72' of water, and are hitting most often right above the thermocline which is currently set up around 53'. It's a bit of a boat ride running 15-20 miles offshore, and my Viking 35' Sport Cruiser was built for off-shore fishing. Its always a pleasure to host knowledgeable fishermen - Tim and his crew had a blast reeling in some Steelhead- we started out in 50’ trolling with the wind to our stern. A massive bug hatch slowed the bite, so we pulled lines and headed out to 70’ and put spoons down off the downriggers and off dipsey divers and tru trips- had 4 on and kept 3, including a 28.5” fish ohio. Walleye bite was a bit slow today, but we ended up w 14 eyes and the trout. It got hot, and two of the guys took a refreshing swim 15 miles off shore - a great way to cool down in 75 degree water on a 90 degree day.

Had the pleasure of hosting Stephanie, Natalie and her husband Mark - trolled in 48’ with spoons and cranks, getting two fish ohio eyes. They did mostly catch and release, keeping a few of the larger fish for their family fish fry. This was a raffle winner trip from the Cincinnati Fish Expo - mark is a retired policeman- thank you for your service!
