FANTASTIC weather, perfect temperature, not too hot or cold, beautiful, not crowded. Not a lot of restaurant options, but it's a small town. Get supplies in Port Lavaca if you want a big grocery store, etc.

Just don’t forget to dress appropriate for the weather I thought it was gonna be warmer, but the captain took care of me and it was a blast.

It was cold and rough waters but with a good Captain he can get you on some fish. It was harder to find the fish but once we did we stayed catching fish for hours. I would recommend Captain Eric with Island Adventure Charters he will get you on the fish in January.

If you’re going to arrive via Ferry Crossing; ensure you allot for peak season and weekend business. Better to be early than late. Or take alternate route without ferry crossing.

unfortunately we went during a cold front blowing in. The fish werent biting much and it was difficult to find spots to anker in the wind. The guide was great!
