this was also our first key west fishing trip. grunt and grouper kept the day action packed. with snapper and mackerel mixed in.

we may try november or May next time fishing in key west. February is perfect weather. around mid 70s temperatures during the day. not sure about the tuna season though. i do see other folks cught quite a lot of tunas though. depends what fish you want to get, and do your own research to find the best season for your desired fish. key west definitely a fisherman’s haven. good food, nice beer, a good fish!

it’s very windy when you’re running all the way out to where you’re going to fish. Make sure you pack a windbreaker or a heavy hoodie. if you’re fishing with younger kids, you should probably tell the captain that you need to eat what you catch he will put you on mangrove snapper and the kids will catch them all.

The swells were coming in from the gulf and it was a bit windy. It was like we were fishing backwards. Our Captain did a great job for not so great conditions. We still had a great dinner with our catch
