Big John of Florida Deep Sea Fishing
This would be a great trip for first time anglers in Destin, especially when catching Spanish Mackerel. It was a nice day on the bait, easy to tell when fish are on, and a good fight but quick. Great for kids or novice anglers that want a great day on the water that ends in a tasty meal for the dinner table. After, there are several options for cook and catch at local restaurants for the freshest meal.

Get The Gaff Sportfishing Charters
Definitely a great idea to go with a guide. Lots of boat traffic out there and there’s lots to learn about local fish, this Captain clearly knows what he is doing.

Vengeance Charters
I highly enjoyed our fishing trip in beginning of April but I was a little disappointed that we were unable to go out in the gulf due to the water being too rough thus the 4 star rating. Sounds like that is common in Destin around this time of year.

Fish didn’t bite as well in the afternoon as they do in the morning, still caught fish, and was still a great time. Go in the morning if you want a bigger bounty.

Sweet Jody Family Adventures
This was our first fishing trip. Our children are 6, 8, 10, 12. We went on a 3 he fishing trip with Destin Bay Fishing Charters. Capt Keller was incredibly kind and patient, answering the non stop influx of questions from excited kids. He was an expert at finding fish — Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Flounder, and two large trout (4 and 5 lbs). We also caught a stingray. My 8 yr old wanted to go back out again for the rest of the day! A highlight of our trip for the whole family.

Reel Grace does not have a fighting chair and that's not their objective. Biggest fish they go after (in season) is King Mackerel according to the captain. All in all, a fun, stress free, productive trip.

If you get motion sickness during long drives or boat rides, I would highly recommend taking something prior to your arrival to help. otherwise nothing else cause the crew and captain are they to help however and it was a fantastic time!
