Was worth the drive and fun! We were thankful we took dramamine before we left as the big waves did take their toll on us. We also packed sandwiches, snacks and drinks that came in handy as the fish were on! Took all of us to get the big Marlin in the boat!

Weather can result in water being extremely choppy -- we went out during high winds and surf. Okay, as long as you know what to expect and communicate with the captain and either take preventative meds or arent prone to sea-sickness.

Captain Matt did forewarn us that this time is still their winter and the fish may not be biting. On top of that the wind has been high speeds the past week, which had effect on the water chopiness. Still we accepted the risk and dodnt regret it.

If you want to have some fish to take back to the mainland do some research and find a place that can vacuum pack and freeze your fish for you. I didn’t do that until it was too late but there appears to be ways you could get it done.
All in all it was a great experience for a couple of first timers.

Oahu Pelagic Sportfishing
Takes a bit to drive out there! Take extra time to get there.
We left waikiki around 1030 (rental car took 90mims to get due to line ) we gor to waianae around noon or so. Got food and snacks and then met at the dock.
