Busy has been an understatement, i had an awesome husband and wife from mississippi come and fish with me. The tide was extremely slow for most of our trip witch made the fishing tough without much moving water but we were persistent and got in a some practice on some trout while we waited on the tide to finally start moving. Once the water was flowing we moved on to redfish , they both made shkrt work of a couple slot fish and had some large overslot fish give them a food fight until they made it to some nearby rocks and ultimately cut the line. I also got the opportunity to do some fiahing with a long time friend and absolutely wore ourselves out on some hungry redfish. These fish ate anything we threw at them from live shrimp and cut mullet to pinfish and artificials.

After what was hopefully the last cold front of the year, the afternoon on saturday brought us a nice warm up and a strong incoming tide. My solo client and I went out on a mission to catch a bag of fish for dinner. We started out targeting some trout on artificial, we had success on both a jerk shad on a jig head and prawn star worked under a popping cork. Once the tide was about half way in we transitioned to red fish and made quick work of finding a nice lower slot fish and had him back to the ramp and home in plenty of timetoncook them up for dinner the same night.

This trip was all about targeting trout on artificials. The recent cold front that came through moved the fish back inside a little bit seeking warmer water. We started our quick trip off throwing a doa lil john and produced a bunch of fish but not the right size. We made a small move and switched over to a zman trout trick and were able to find some fis for a good dinner.
