6-Hour SLAMMER today!!

Had one of those trips today that just reminds you why we do this. Rolled out for a 6-hour with a good group, flat calm, clean water and you could just tell it was setting up right. Ran out to about 100 feet, idled over a few spots, and the screen was already lit up before we even got tight. First drop… thump. Second rod down… thump. Then it just didn’t stop. We got into a pile of grouper that were ready to fight. Not the kind you baby either, these fish were digging straight back to the rocks, trying to break us off every chance they got. Had to stay on them, keep pressure, and earn every single one that came in the boat. Couple real nice fish in the mix too. Thick, mean, exactly what you want to see. The boys did a great job, and once they got the feel for it, it was game on. There were stretches where I’m pretty sure we didn’t have a bait down for more than a minute without getting bit. That’s about as good as it gets for a half day. Ended the trip with a solid box of fish and a lot of tired arms. Always a good sign. Days like this don’t need a lot of hype, just good conditions, the right spots, and people willing to put in a little work. If you’ve been thinking about getting out there, now’s the time.
