As hard winter settles around us, the fish have moved south to warmer waters. We are still managing to stay busy on the water (as long as it's free of ice) with clamming and oystering and even a few duck hunts with our friends at Fish Tales. Over the next few weeks any fishing will probably be in Virginia Beach, while we ready the boat for spring flounder. In 2026 we are going to hold the line against price increases, and continue to offer our popular afternoon "Family Fun Fishing" adventures at the lowest price possible. We look forward to seeing all our old friends, and making new ones in 2026. Happy New Year and Aloha!

Shorter days, falling leaves and fish on the bite. As we wind up the fall and move towards winter, the fishing has not let us down. Our salmon season was disrupted by a drought on Lake Ontario, so we did two steelhead junkets instead, with a good result on both voyages. Back home, the flounder bite has remained consistent to date, with 14 fish netted this weekend alone. We await the arrival of our winter striped bass. Seeing reports of vast schools off the New Jersey coast has us hopeful for this cold weather fishery. As things shut down here we will look south to Rudee inlet in Virginia Beach for winter redfish and trout . Stay tuna'd, Aloha!

As we enter the last week of October, the north winds are beginning to howl. The trout have left, the Stripers are not yet here (well, maybe a few!), but the Flounder save the day. Our Sunday trip found the bite fast and furious. Keepers were few few, but the action was steady. There are a few stripers around, but it takes dead-eye casting and good hook-setting to bring one on. This should improve as the weather cools. We are returning to the Lake Erie shoreline next week to have some Steelhead fun. If you'd like to play along let me know.
