Fishing in Astoria on the columbia river has opened with solid fishing! This year is differnt in years past as the season has just opened. In previous years the season opens at the begining of August. Chinook are in the system. Some days fishing seems easy and the chinook are there for the taking and other days we have to work a little harder to find our fish. These are the best fighiting salmon around.
