Fishing the nearshore wrecks off Ft. Myers is producing good numbers of cobia and snapper. Using big thread herring for bait is the key. For the snapper were chunking up the herring and pinning it to the bottom. Inshore fishing the redfish and snook are biting around the mangrove shorelines using live and dead baits. Once the tide comes up start pitching your baits along the shorelines.

With the mild air and water temps the fishing is spectacular. Redfish are biting well in the back bays in the Ft. Myers area using live pinfish and pilchards around the mangrove shorelines. The nearshore wrecks are keeping my clients busy with catches of grouper, bonito, cobia, Mackeral and tripletail using free lined and bottom live baits. The tripletail are on the crab buoys.

Ft. Myers area is producing great catches of snook and redfish. Cooler temps and abundant of bait is why these fish are hungry. Live pilchards and cut pinfish is the go to baits. Oyster bars and mangrove shorelines are the ambush spots. This is a great time to be on the water so get out there and enjoy it.
