Overzicht van de Trip

Couldn't fish the open, deeper areas we've fished lately due to gusty winds and choppy water. Moved back into the creeks which, surprisingly for this time of year, didn't hold many fish . Fourteen crappie were taken, but only 5 were keepers; however, the two largest were just short of 14 inches.&

Chickamauga fish cooperated on this beautiful spring day. Over 20 crappie were landed with about 17 keeper-sized. However, all fish were released to fight another day. Largest fish of the day was 14 inches which qualies the angler for the Tennessee Angler Recognition Program award.

We caught black crappie and white and yellow bass trolling jigs and crankbaits. Most the crappie were small (8-10 inches), but we did manage to take several to 13 inches.

The Chickamauga wind finally gave us a bit of a break today, and our fishing improved. Solo angler got his limit of keeper crappie (including a 15 inch TARP qualifier) on a short trip today.
