The Mullet Run Is On Fire! Want to catch fish and have a fishing adventure? The annual mullet run has been spectacular — the water’s alive and the bite’s nonstop. Tarpon are rolling, snook are smashing bait, and even the mackerel and jacks are getting in on the action. Temps have cooled into the upper 80s, and the fish are feeding heavy — it’s prime time on the St. Lucie and Indian River Lagoon. We’re seeing mullet of all sizes, threadfin, bunker, pilchards, glass minnows, and pinfish getting crushed daily. If you’re looking to have some fun, bend some rods, and make a few memories before the run slows down — now’s the time. Well it is hot. The water is hot, and the bite is hot! Give me a shout if you want to get out. You must be a kid or a kid at heart! Go fishing for Food where we forget about everything else and go after what is in season, the legal length, and what you are willing to eat. (I hear stingray makes a great Scallop). The other two options are more of a mission. Depending on the day, it could be mission impossible, so I want to help make sure you at least have fun and catch some fish! Summer has been great so far. Snook, Snapper, Tarpon, Trout, Ladyfish, Catfish, you name it. They have been enjoying all the seasonal bait that has showed up like Pilchards, Shrimp, Crabs, Mullet, Threadfins, Sardines, and Bunker to name a few.
