Unfortunately we are in the midst of the summer blues. Heat advisory index’s almost daily and water temps are hovering around 90 degrees in the bay. There isn’t a ton of quality fish to be found. The heat definitely has them lethargic. Historically this time of year is tough, but it seems this summer has been tougher than usual. Water quality issues, overfishing and the heat have made it difficult this summer. We are occasionally finding some good fish, but we are having to work for them. I try to be as transparent as possible when it comes to this fishery and my profession. Its going to be tough for the next few weeks, but if you’re willing to tough it out, you may just find a gem in the midst of this summer haze. Tight Lines, Capt. Quinn

We area finally out of what I believe to be the last cold snap. Water temps are in the 70’s and it has the fish moving. While it may seem that every trip is a success, it really hasn’t been that way. Just six days ago it was 39 degrees in the morning. We have had stable temps the last week and it has made the fishing a little more predictable. Afternoons seem to be the best lately, especially with a south wind. Hope this helps and look forward to getting you guys out there!

As we get into Spring, it seems the weather cant make up its mind. Hot, cold, windy, its been all over the place, which had made locating quality fish somewhat difficult. However, covering plenty of ground we have been able to locate a few quality fish. As we get further into March and temperatures start to stabilize we should see a more consistent bite.
