Young Un Dominates Fathers Day!

Kasey booked a trip as an add on to his vacation to visit Niagara Falls, up from Texas. With wife Justina and son Kayden in tow, we set out to catch whatever was biting. Got off to a fast start boating a couple tiny smallmouth and Justina got a decent 3.5lb smallie. Then the bite just shut down. Switched to walleye rigs and that bite was just as difficult. After a quick tour of downtown Buffalo, we set up nearer the Niagara River and in just three drifts each angler got a quality bite. Mom got another decent smallmouth, then Kasey caught a true beast of a smallie! Young Kayden stayed the course and after a long day of fishing, catching only a few small fish, he set the hook on the biggest fish of the day! A 7lb drum landed in the net after an extremely fierce battle! To say I was impressed is an understatement. His perseverance and concentration after a long day says a ton about the lads integrity and is a direct reflection of good parenting! Super nice, funny kid and great family. I might have had more fun thsn they did!

Michelle surprised her Dad, Robert, with a multi species trip for his birthday. Not knowing what to expect, Robert adjusted very quickly. Michelle fine tuned her approach and both started catching fish after fish! We experimented with walleye to start and promptly put 9 keepers in the livewell! We then made a couple drifts for bass but they weren’t cooperating. The drum, however, obliged both anglers offering up the incredible fight they’re known for. In the process, Robert caught the biggest fish of his life landing a channel catfish that was pushing 14 lbs! The bond between these two was joyful to witness. The boat was full of laughter and love. Another successful day on the water!

Russ came from Seattle to visit long time friend John. They decided to try a night walleye trip. After a slow start, things picked up a bit. Russ caught a 4lb + smallmouth to get us started. John knew his lure was working as he boated a record 9 rock bass while waiting for the walleye to turn on. Russ struck again with a beautiful 6 lb + walleye. John reacted by getting a nice smallmouth and a quality, nearly 5 lb walleye of his own. Another super day gsining two more new friends.
