The Chinook fishing is heating up, lots of fish in the 22-26 inch range with decent numbers of fish in the teens . Most days are flat calm and the scenery of snow capped mountains and abundant sea life are unreal! The herring spawn being in full swing draws killer whales , humpbacks whales, sea lions and sea birds to feed with the salmon migration. Spoons and anchovies are producing . Fishing from 140 to 300 feet works best ..

Out on the Salish sea this winter the water has been flat and the weather above normal making for lots of great days ! Fish are biting on anchovies at around 200 feet deep. Shorter leaders with bullet role chartreuse teaser head and a blue flasher seems to be out fishing everything else. Fish from 10-20 lbs are common in the winter months and great table fare! Tight lines everyone and happy new year !

Very hot weather has pushed the salmon deep , this helps with catching other species at the same time. Such as Ling cod ,Rock fish and halibut!
