We had a great day on the water!
Thanks Bill give us a call next time youโre in town. Weโre glad you had a good time! We do offshore fishing as well.
We only caught 3 fish in over 3 hrs.
Hey Daniel, Iโm sorry the fish werenโt biting on your trip. Sometimes, that happens. We have to deal with tide cycles, salinity levels, and lack of because of fresh water pouring out of the rivers from excessive rain, and believe it or not, dirty water. Those arenโt excuses. Thatโs just part of it, and we adapt. If we could make the fish eat, fishing probably wouldnโt be as much fun. The good days are fun, and the slow days are frustrating. Iโm also the dock master where I keep my boat and communicate with all of the local captains so we can all provide good service in the tourism/fishing industry. The fish simply werenโt hungry yesterday morning. A couple of other local captains actually called me for advice because they were having the same luck you guys had. Our 2nd trip yesterday began at the start of the incoming tide cycle, and our clients caught over 30 fish. Sometimes, the outgoing tide is great, and sometimes, itโs the total opposite. Our tides also range between 4.5ft-7ft. On the super high tides (6ft-7ft), fishing in the grass or on the flats can be quite rewarding, but bigger tides mean really swift moving currents and thatโs another factor to deal with while fishing during the outgoing or incoming tides. However, the 4.5ft-5.5ft tides are the best tides to fish, in my opinion. The smaller tides make it hard for the fish to get into the grass to eat, so they congregate along the banks, making the fishing easier. Iโm sorry that we didnโt meet your expectations. The next time that you book a trip, whether itโs with me or another guide service, you may want to contact the captain to discuss the catching trends for that particular season or time period that your fishing. Sometimes, it doesnโt matter, and fishing is good all day. You never know.
