My husband and I went for our anniversary. I had never been before and my husband had not been since he was very younger. Mike was quick to respond to messages and questions leading up to the trip and we spoke several times on the phone before meeting up. From the first second we met he was friendly and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable about the fish and where to find them. He taught us a lot and was cheering us on along the way. Mike was very energetic, fun, and just all around a great guide.  We caught a wide range of things. We caught sharks, flounder, lizard fish, black bass, mackerel, octopus, oyster toad, some blues and probably some other things but we lost count of everything we caught. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend mike and his tour. We will definitely book with him again next time we are in town. This is the perfect boat for a couple or small party. We loved we didn’t have to share our space and our captain with strangers. He had everything we needed and ladies he baits the hook and takes off the fish so hey that’s a win win win win he even cleans the fish at the end so you don’t have to do it BONUS. If you are on the fence if you should book!! just do it. It is worth every penny and you won’t regret it. I went out with the mindset I may catch one but I caught a ton!! This trip was more for my husband but we both really enjoyed our time and our experience. I’d give mike a 10 star if I could.  Boat was very clean and well maintained and comfortable.

Captain Mike was friendly and so knowledgeable about the area and about fishing! We caught plenty of fish and he cleaned them for us before we left. We’ll definitely use Native Son again in the future… awesome day on the water fishing… highly recommend!!!

Captain Mike is a true native son. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Knows the area like the back of his hand. We had a great time and caught a lot of fish. Made us feel very comfortable. Like fishing with an old friend. Plan to book again.

This was our first experience out on a charter boat. Captain Mike was knowledgeable, engaging, and was so willing to share his knowledge of fishing! I would highly recommend him if you are considering this for a family activity!
