Background: I am a native of south Florida and an Army veteran. I Grew up fishing in south Florida with my father and grand father. I grew up near the water so fishing after school was a daily event. I have been making my living fishing for the past 15 years and before that as a marine mechanic. I love taking people fishing, whether beginner or old salt I have a blast.
Techniques: Flying live baits from a kite or trolling ballyhoo and artificial lures are the primary techniques I employ. I do like to drop a shark bait while drifting and catching monster fish. Bottom fishing for grouper and snapper is a great way to put some filets on the grill.

its august and the big blacken tunas are still around. normally they move on in June. there are some big kings coming over the side and a sailfish thrown into the mix. Mahi Mahi season is upon us and there are plenty around right now.

The Sailfish are here and we are catching them. All last week we were having multiple shots at sailfish. I prefer to tag and release these fish to fight again another day. Some people like to kill them and eat them. I have eaten them and can tell you they are not that good. I would rather eat a hot dog. Mixed in with the sailfish are wahoo, tuna, dolphin and kingfish. If you can, Book a 6hr trip for a better shot at catching a trophy

summertime brings calm seas and plenty of dolphin /mahi. weediness form up in the Gulf Stream and the baitfish follow the weeds and then the dolphin follow the bait. book a 5 hour trip and have plenty of time to cash in on the summertime fishing.

right now there are some nice dolphin around. a 53 pounder was caught in a tournament this past Saturday. the fish come and go in waves and this wave has plenty of good sized fish in it.

We had a nice day out on the boat with Captain Tom. Although we didn’t get a lot of bites, we did manage to pull in a big blackfin tuna and two kingfish, one large and one medium. My 14 year old son really wanted to catch a shark and also a fish that we could cook. With fishing you can do your best and sometimes just not catch anything. Wow! We had an awesome experience today! Captain Tom is so knowledgeable, kind, interesting and a great host. He pretty much does everything for you, and you just enjoy the ride! We immediately caught small bait fish and it took some time to catch bigger fish but we did! We left with many lbs of fresh kingfish steaks, masterfully filleted by Captain Tom! Captain Tom is everything you want in a fishing guide; on time, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We had a couple bites. Captain Tom tried switching bait and fishing techniques, but we were unlucky. Captain Tom did a great job, 2 of us had gotten sea sick he took us back but still manage to make sure the rest of the crew caught fish. He had bait fish ready and was at the dock waiting on us as soon as we arrived. After the day of fishing he fillet our fish so we could take them home and throw them on the grill, they were delicious.
