We went out with Captain Rocha and caught rooster fish, spanish mackerel, rainbow runners and needle fish. The captain was very responsive and helpful. He even helped me decide which gear to bring to surf fish on my own during my trip and also offered us a ride if we needed one. We made a plan on what we wanted to target before the trip whcih was amazing!! If you want a true Costa Rican Pura Vida experience and knock fish off your bucket list dont hesitate to book R sport fishing. I will definitely be reffering anyone and coming back myself in the future. Thank you for the experience of a life time!!

Entire trip was tip top.  We had a first timer with us, She caught, we all caught.  Yellow fin were biting, landed 6.  We really appreciated all that the crew did.  They busted their tails to get us on fish, spent more time than they needed to and made this a very productive and enjoyable experience.  They had some snacks, but not a lot.  Sodas and water, some local beer,  not enough for a party but good enough.  There is storage so bring more beer and sandwiches if you think you will need them.  I f you want, grab a lunch bag or three to hand out to the crew.  If I ever roll back into Jaco, I will definitely get ahold of these cats again!!

The captain and mates were super friendly. We went on an all day trip. They worked the entire time to help us catch something. It was a slow day at sea with all the boats out there catching nothing. The water was super clear and flat so I assume the tuna were easily spooked. The crew never gave up though. They took us bottom fishing in 400 foot water and we landed a couple of Groupers. We were very happy with the effort and the experience they provided. They were a local captain and mates. The captain suggested a place to cook our catch. It was called The Hook Up. Wow ! We had them cook the grouper in blackened bites with a mango salsa. Delish!!!! It was a perfect end to a great day. Thank you all!

We had a great trip with R Sport Fishing! We we conveniently booked through the app and were picked up on the beach in front of our hotel. The captain and first mate weee kind, personable and did everything to make us comfortable. The boat was clean, provided shelter from the sun and came stocked with drinks. Once we hit our first fishing spot, we caught a small mahi. Sadly that’s where our luck ended, but the crew was relentless in their hunt and we eventually caught some small bottom feeding fish. They did all they could to help us catch something big but it just wasn’t in the cards for the day. Maybe because we brought a banana on board?! Overall we were pleased with price, accommodations and crew-would def book again!

We had an amazing time. The Captain and Crew were very friendly and kind. We caught Mahi and Yellowfin tuna. We were blessed to see many dolphins, some turtles and lots of birds. By the end of the trip we booked for the next day to enjoy Tortuga isal for a day trip.  You could tell they love sharing their love for fishing with anyone who steps on board. They made everything so easy. Thank you so much for all the great memories!
