We have been catching kings and false albacore consistently, and coming across some smaller school mahi but all snapper season the snapper its hit or miss, but they are back on the near shore reefs and bitting. The last two trips we have cought some real good ones. One near 20 pounds and a 11 pounder and several mingo snapper and some short trigger fish. On severl trips we cought 30 to 40 pound jack crevel within just a couple minutes after leaving the dock. Photos from the last snapper trip in July and the last couple weeks. The two big snapper are from this week catch and release, closed season until weekends in September, October and November long weekends on holidays.

The blackfin had been showing up near the pasd so thats where we started and in the first 2 min. of trolling we hooked up double, but wrong species. After catching several false albacore we decided to move down towards the pier and didn't take long and we found a good king mackrel and several more albacore. So we made a decision to just keep working furter out and cought another king and finally we hooked up and knew wright away it was likely a blackfin tuna and was wright 26 pounds. 25 fish total , 1 blackfin, 3 king mackerel, a short amberjack ( season opens sept. 1st) 1 spanish, bite by barracuda, 1 barracuda, and 18 false albacore. What a awesome day,

We have been really busy having to move some trips around due to sea conditions , hopefully we get a break from the rough seas, we have been doing a lot of trolling for kings and catching consistently, a couple good red snapper and a big mangrove snapper. The jackcreval have shown up as well, we caught a 40 pounder on are way back wright at the dock.

We headed out the pass to look for some sharks, with that beutiful clear water here you can see very good, unfortunately we didn't see any sharks. So we decided to head to the reefs where we been catching some good amberjack. It didn't take long and we doubled up, landing the pair, one was 37in and the other 39in we kept trolling around and got a good king and a couple short amberjack and a couple false albacore. A really good trip with some great people, doesn't get any better than that!!

We had a great day, started out slow but as the day went on things picked up. We starter cruising the beach for cobia and tarpon, no cobia yet but seen a couple schools of tarpon. Got a couple good chances but just couldn't get one to commit. We trolled a little but they just weren't bitting so we did some bottom fishing. They cought several real nice red snapper(not in season yet june 1st) and several trigger fish and amberjack l. We did some tight lining live bait and had a big amberjack pop of at the boat and another get popped off by dolphins, we trolled back and cought a keeper king mackerel.

We decided to get some live shrimp and fish the bayou due to rough weather conditions. We freelined live shrimp around some docks out of the wind and cought some nice trout and a black drum.
