Where do I begin? Sam was phenomenal. Right out the gate we started the day with a safety briefing which consisted of a full rundown of where all the life jackets, fire extinguishers and life ring were located. He walked us through the water conditions for the day and what to expect. We were underway right at 0900. He expertly navigated the 2ft seas keeping us all as dry as possible, to include shuffling us around to balance the weight. I think it only took us about 20 minutes to get to the first spot. Sam immediately went to work getting hooks baited and anglers setup. We were on some Trigger almost immediately but, to all of our disappointment they were undersized. We floated around the spot for a bit and then really got into some Mangrove snapper. We ended up with about 10 keeper sized before we pushed off in search of more Trigger. The next few spots were dry holes but, considering the water temp and time of year, it was expected. We made our way back to our first spot of the day, landed a nice lane snapper, a beautiful American Red Snapper which we safely returned to the waters. Right before wrapping up for the morning my rod bent in half! Oh man this is the big one. A short but fun fight later I landed the 19” flounder that you see in the image above. The whole boat was excited, we bent the dip net and it was a nice way to finish out the trip. We cruised back to the marina got unloaded, divided up the catch. Sam cleaned bagged and iced everything for everyone and we were on our way home. Was a really fantastic outing despite not hooking into many of our targeted species. Will definitely book again.

we came out in February when the water was cold and not a lot of fish to be caught but still had an amazing experience. capt sam was a great guy and brought us to his spots that he new fish would be and sure enough they where there. we had our 8 yr with us and he also made him feel special and took the time to show him how it was done and even let him help capt the boat. If you want a good time pick the salty sam you will not regret it. thank you capt sam

My family and I have been out 3x with Captain Sam, and will be plenty more to come! Each time has been a unique experience and location he has taken us to, he knows all the fishing holes!

Prior to owning a boat ourselves, we rented Captain Sam’s boat for a full week and during that week had Sam take out our extended family for a fishing trip, he certainly did not disappoint! We had an absolute blast as he put us right on the mark outside the Pensacola Pass.

Our second time we launched out of Fort Walton area and went out the Destin pass and again, didn’t disappoint and was impressed he knew marks in both areas! Destin is great because you find yourself not needing to go out as far as Pensacola.

The third and most recent time (see photos) we actually owned our own boat at this point and we hired Sam to come Captain our boat and take us out to some Pensacola fishing spots! My boys and I had an absolute blast all thanks to Sam!

We have caught it all with Sam - Snappers (Lane, Vermillion, Reds), Triggerfish, Grouper, Dolphin, Flounder, Tuna… always knowledgeable about our catch and fish rules.

Sam is a character for sure! We did a half day with him and he had us on fish and entertained the whole time.  We could tell pretty quick that he knows the waters that he fishes and he kept us on the fish.  Did he catch the world’s smallest chicken dolphin and have us laughing until it hurt????  YUP!!!!!!!!!  This dude is a trip and we sure had a good one!  Thanks Sam for an unforgettable trip and a bounty of fish!!!!  See you again soon!!!!  P.S. Been fishing with Capt Sam for many years, always an absolute blast whether we are chasing inshore redfish, offshore dropping for snapper/grouper, working birds and rips for pelagics, or just a family sandbar hang out. Capt Sam goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is not only safe and comfortable but having a GREAT time.
