Very good service and nice fishing

we were so looking forward to this trip, it was going to be the highlight of our time in Akumal. the surf conditions were really bad all week, Manny was extremely flexible and accommodating and moved our trip twice for us. We pushed it to our last day in Mexico in hopes of getting better sea conditions. Unfortunately Manny couldn’t make it that day as he had other commitments. That was disappointing but we understood as he had moved our dates for us. His crew members Alfredo and Jason took us out that day, despite the conditions still being choppy and less than ideal. They were very nice and friendly but did not speak much English, fortunately we speak some Spanish, but communication was not perfect. We boated around the sea for 3 hours with not a single bite, none of the people in our party even got to touch a rod. (We understand that we don’t know how to rig up the lines and bait and they are the experts, but it was still disappointing to have such a passive role in the fishing experience. surely if we had caught something they would let us reel it in, but that never happened). They took us snorkeling the last half hour and we got to see 2 sea turtles, but couldn’t cover the disappointment of the last 3 hours. I understand that the crew cannot guarantee that you will catch anything, and it is unfair to put that pressure on their business. But we paid $300 for our last day to be so so disappointing. In hindsight we could have spent 1/4 of that $$ for an all-inclusive day at the resort. I would say that I would still recommend Manny tours if you are interested in deep sea fishing, but manage your expectations and realize that coming back completely empty-handed is a very real possibility.

We had a great time with Manny out on the water! We got to snorkel with the sea turtles and one swam right underneath us :-) it was a great day out on the water with great conversation and some bites. We would definitely use Manny again!
