- Background
- My name is Eddie, but people call me Fast Eddie. The name goes way back to when I was a deckhand. I would run around the boat and take care of everyone at quite a fast pace, and captains would call me Fast Eddie so it stuck. One day my mom booked me a walk-on trip and I became friends with the crew. I started riding my bike to the marina and would help the crew out. One day I was asked to ride along on a charter and 3 days later I was hired as a 2nd mate and worked my way to being the 1st mate. Two years later I got the opportunity of a lifetime to be the 1st mate on a 60ft boat and I was hooked. I went to school in 2000 and received a 100-ton master's license. I became the captain of that same 60ft boat. Here I am now running a dream job. Catching fish makes memories for customers for generations to talk about. - Techniques
- I'm a light tackle guy. Less is better. We use a Carolina-style rig for Red Snapper, however, if the current is slack we'd rather use a rig called Knocker.
