Our wishes were to go offshore to fish for dolphin (mahi). When he arrived, I saw no outriggers. He had no intentions of going offshore. It was a beautiful day.  His opinion was his chances of catching them was low. That should have been my decision. We had a fun day and fished for mutton snapper. We caught 3 fish. We hooked more but didn’t land them. Some was because of our inexperience some was due to faulty equipment. His fortay, was catching snapper. He is young and has room to learn more. Once again, we had a fun day.

First day cancelled due to weather. Day 2: Will worked hard to cut bait and get us places. He’s a nice guy. Even stayed late after we didn’t catch anything in the three hour window. Weather was terrible, fish weren’t biting. Will fished along the interstate within yards of the partiers on shore. It’s not actually “fishing,” by the way. It’s just sitting there on a boat until the guide catches something then hands you the rod. I didn’t know until I asked. Out of the four of us, we touched rods for maybe two minutes total. Can’t believe I blew $550 on that. He finally caught one nurse shark and a barra snapper. My son almost landed the shark. We took the snapper home. Bathroom on the boat was so stinky no one would use it. I can’t believe they call Isla the fishing capital of the world. Oh, and don’t forget the card you reserved with isn’t how you pay. Make sure you have that clear ahead of time. Make sure you have the same account, such as Venmo, ready to go. There was no communication about form of payment ahead of time. Also, we didn’t know where to meet. The address listed is in Marathon. He works out of a rental shop in Islamorada. Would’ve been easy to just get us that name and address to start with. I recommend you come to Colorado instead, where you actually fish all day with a guide, not watch the guide fish. If I could get my money back, I would ask for it.
