Being raised Salmon fishing from as far back as I can remember. The ocean is in my blood. My love for fishing has taken me all over the coast of BC. From Prince Rupert to the waters around Vancouver Island. I get to share this knowledge and have a great adventure each time we go out! Happy to have you onboard!
Techniques
Salmon fishing is most effective with the use of down riggers . The west coast tradition of long rods with centre pin reels is preferred. Bottom fish is most productive jigging with artificial baits or herring . But for halibut especially big halibut I prefer to anchor and run a spreader bar bait setup . This requires patience but comes with great rewards !!

The Chinook fishing is heating up, lots of fish in the 22-26 inch range with decent numbers of fish in the teens . Most days are flat calm and the scenery of snow capped mountains and abundant sea life are unreal! The herring spawn being in full swing draws killer whales , humpbacks whales, sea lions and sea birds to feed with the salmon migration. Spoons and anchovies are producing . Fishing from 140 to 300 feet works best ..

Out on the Salish sea this winter the water has been flat and the weather above normal making for lots of great days ! Fish are biting on anchovies at around 200 feet deep. Shorter leaders with bullet role chartreuse teaser head and a blue flasher seems to be out fishing everything else. Fish from 10-20 lbs are common in the winter months and great table fare! Tight lines everyone and happy new year !

Flat calm and warm ! Great day with super people. Lots of nice fish coming in ! Today's biggest was 29.5lb ! This fish jumped 8 times at least three to four feet out of the water making for an amazing fight. Limits of chinooks and a half dozen crabs made for very happy guests!
