What would you recommend to anglers fishing in San Pedro for the first time?

1/2 day is probably enough for most people who have not fished a lot. I did a full day and it was a lot of time but I love fishing.

Tayo and Hazin were great! We caught everything we were looking for. They were great on finding the spots. Lunch was delicious. Thank you friends!

Book it! It’s a fun experience. Bring your patience and open mind. It can be hot, with no shade and there can be lulls of time where you’re not catching anything.

Fishing is a little slow but we went out in the middle of the afternoon, maybe try morning. Our first time fishing here so not sure what what to expect in different months.

Keep an open mind. When you go with a guide, it’s their boat and let them lead. Enjoy the experience.

San Pedro can get very windy throughout the day and the water can get rough both inside and outside the reef. Be ready for rough seas.

If you would like the complete experience fishing in San Pedro, definitely do the fishing, snorkeling, bbq cook on the beach package!!!

The half day reef is great for people who want to experience ocean fishing with lots of varieties of fish, but without the swells and sea sickness!

If it is your first time make sure you are well protected from the sun and brace yourself for a hot but incredible experience!

When they say reef fishing it is man made reefs in shallower water not the 2nd largest reef in the world

We were able to catch quite a few species of fish and also a good amount. We are very happy fishing in February in San Pedro.

Temper your expectations and enjoy the experience. Timing is important for some species. Bring your own gear, if you have it, so as not to be disappointed in the gear provided.

Keep in mind we were spear fishing, not deep-sea or reef fishing with fishing poles. We were successful in our catch and ate a great meal that same night.

Although you can catch bigger fish off shore, reef fishing has great odds of bringing home some delicious fare for your dinner to be cooked locally.

Having your own equipment is recommended mostly so you are familiar with it. Learn the double haul cast for windy situations it's always present...be patient, it's more like hunting than fishing

Stayed inside reef because of wind. Lots of action and had several fish on the line before they got off. Good AM fishing.

Plenty of sporty fish!!! Wahoo season is now bilut the king mackrel bite was amazing. Mahogany Bay pool bar did a superior job cooking outlr catch!

If you're targeting a specific species ask to see if they're around when you're planning your trip. I was hunting permit and they are hard to find in December

Fishing in San Pedro you are sure to catch a variety of fish on the reef using live bait like snapper, triggerfish and barracuda. Don't sit around the resort pool all day... Get out and fish!

Communicate with your captain on expectations and what kind of fishing you'd like to do prior to meeting. They are more than happy to accommodate when possible.

Check the forecast and be flexible with the ability to fish inside the Reef or lagoon if the swells are too big or the fish aren't biting.

The wahoo and Marlin bite has slowed down for the season but the barracuda was good! Started picking up some grouper and mahi mahi! Our boat caught a huge bull!

Bring your own gear but get on the flats with a good guide day 1. You'll learn bait, locations and what's biting from the charter and then apply it to DIY fishing for later days.

We went in February and it was very windy so we couldn’t go deep sea fishing. We had to do reef fishing. I’m not sure if that’s the case all the time.

The area is beautiful. You can fish either within the reef or past the reef. Be sure to specify with the boat captain what type of fish you are looking to catch. We had a great time.

Well the sharks would eat your tuna or whatever you’re fishing for before you could real the fish in.

If you go with right company you can this is our 3rd trip but will not use freedom tours find someone else

Making it threw the reef channel can be quite rough, but the remainder of the trip was well worth it.
