What would you recommend to anglers fishing in San Jose Del Cabo, Baja California Sur for the first time?

Go with an open mind! It’s harder than expected to reel in a fish, ring strength and determination and most of all listen to the captain and do the appropriate technique, makes it so much easier!

Don’t expect non stop action. But there are certainly quality fish to be caught and not a lot of competition

Yes. Fun fishing inshore.We did not catch any Mahi Mahi but when water is warmer, I am sure it is really great.

40lbs of tuna fillet and 90lbs of Mahi fillet in 4 hours... This guy knows how to fish ! He's also a complete pleasure to be around.

You can’t beat it. We had our villa send us with breakfast and tacos for lunch and a few coolers for the boat. It all worked out great!

Make sure you let your captain know what species you would like to target. You can almost always experience some success if you're willing to be flexible with what you target.

Find the right boat. Look for a boat that is actually captained by the person in the advertisement and that has the reviews so you don't end up in the wrong boat like me.

Go out with a crew that crew that is willing, and able to do everything, but will let you do as much as you can. This way you feel comfortable when it all does happen.

Get an Uber or taxi for early morning fishing. It's a little confusing driving to the marina in the early morning from the hotel strip.

Keep an open mind, don't let what you want to catch, versus what you do catch determine the quality of time on the water. Because, remember, its all about the tug!

From San Jose it’s a quick trip to the fishing grounds, 30 min or less. Great inshore fishing!

The hottest time of year is not the best for fishing or enjoying being outside.

Not the busiest time for fish but it’s always a good time when you reel one in.

Same as previously stated, fishing won’t be spectacular every time you go out !

Expect a lot of trolling and remember the adage “It’s called “fishing,” not “catching.”

Just make sure you have enough clothing to stay covered up. Even with sunscreen you will burn.
