What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Tamarindo, Guanacaste for the first time?

It gets very windy later in the morning/afternoon, so the earlier you start the better off you will be.

Beautiful day and weather! Even when things got a little windy, captain moved spots and got us on fish!

The fish can run early, sunrise is 5:30am- if the captain tells you to show up an hour early, show up an hour early.

Captain Frank and the crew were amazing and very accommodating. Especially pulling in 100+ pound yellowfin tuna. Epic trip.

Research. The coat drops depth quickly, but no reefs to fish. No spots on gps with sunken habitat to gravitate to. Very different from the Gulf of Mexico.

Got to go into the trip expecting not to catch a fish every single cast and you’ll end the day very happy

Let the captain put you on the species that he feels that it’s going to be out there so you can catch as many fish and have a great experience as you can

I believe this is typically a great time to fish, but this year has been strange weather with a lot of rain later in December.

Book ahead of time to get a quality boat. The Brisa Mar at Tamarindo Diriá cooked our tuna and red snapper very well.

I think with a good captain, you can have a fantastic time. Other boats were catching fish and had very happy customers. Just not our boat.

Show up early it’s hard to find your boat and crew, the app doesn’t work very well for communication.

The Captain is an experienced true fisherman. Will put you on the fish; knows what is biting and where. High action fishing so come ready to work.

This crew was very patient and taught my 14 year old daughter and her friend how to use the rod and reel.

do not pre-book your fishing trips. there are plenty of people on Tamerindo beach ready to take you out….. for less money than pre-booking.

Be open to different styles and techniques of fishing. It's a balance that can't be beat in terms of fun and producing results.

We wanted to catch table fish and we did. Tuna was what we were looking for and we ended up with about 25 lbs of fillets.

This is a small boat as advertised bring a towel to sit on. And Let’s go this is a fishing trip not a boat ride

The captain said some weather came through right before we were there so it was not as good as they sometimes experience. We still did manage to catch 4 tuna and had a good time!

Can't control the weather but these guys were amazing. It does gets really hot so alot of sun screen and liquid is a must.

It wasn’t the best fishing ever but to catch mahi when there not hot was great. We saw tons of porpoises and lots of life. We didn’t get any billfish but from hearing it says there hot.

You will get wet from ocean spray. Bring clothing appropriate for the conditions. I had a waterproof wind breaker. It helped

Stay hydrated and wear SPF fishing shirts, hat and sunglasses. Don't forget sunblock and a healthy attitude.

Know that this is a smaller boat without restrooms. Also know that the wind can make things a bit rough but also expect to catch fish!
